Tour itinerary: Kathmandu → Muktinath → Kathmandu

Explore the Jomsom Muktinath trek, a family-friendly adventure in the Annapurna region. Discover the picturesque deserts of Mustang and the holy temple of Muktinath, and learn about the local culture and traditions.

Start your journey at Dhumba Lake situated in the foothills of Nilgiri Peak. Then, head to the apple orchards of Marpha, where you can enjoy apples served in many ways—fresh, dried, jam, or fermented. Witness how social life thrives in such difficult terrain and see the real rural life of Nepal. Interact with the children there, and also play with the livestock, including yak, horses, mules, and donkeys. Throughout the trail, get vibes of Buddhism as there are a lot of monasteries, Chortens, Mani walls, and prayer flags. Muktinath Temple is a sacred shrine for both Hindus and Buddhists, which welcomes thousands of pilgrims every year. Take a bath from the 108 stone spouts, believed to cleanse you of your sins and bring salvation. Since Mustang has remained an autonomous region for a long time, there are many interesting legends and stories of this mystical land. Listen to those stories from your guide and the local people. Itinerary Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu 1340m Day 2: Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara 800m/25min. Day 3: Pokhara to Jomsom 2710m by flight (20 minutes) and Trek to Marpha 2670m (3/4 hours) via Thini Village & Dhumba Lake Day 4: Trek from Marpha to Kagbeni 2800m (5/6 hours) Day 5: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath 3800m (4/5 hours) Day 6: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom 2710m via Lupra Village 2790m (5/6 hours) Day 7: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara for 25 minutes and transfer to the Hotel. Day 8: Buffer day for flight cancellation due to bad weather and an afternoon flight back to Kathmandu.
