Ama Lapcha is one of the adventurous passes that lies at the elevation of 6416m, in the Makalu region, in between Mera Peak and the Everest trekking region. The Ama Lapcha Pass Trek connects the trail to Makalu and the Everest region passing through the scenic view of Mt EverestMt MakaluIsland PeakLhotseKanchenjunga, and many other snow-capped mountains.

The Ama Lapcha Pass trek offers the chance to see the distinctive culture and traditions of the Sherpa people in addition to the breathtaking mountain landscape. Trekkers can explore nearby monasteries, discover the Sherpa community‘s history and traditions, and enjoy local food.

The trek begins in Lukla and proceeds along the Dudh Koshi River, passing past several traditional Sherpa settlements and historic monasteries. Trekkers will gain height as they go along and see more and more breathtaking scenery. The route also passes through two higher passes, Mera and Amphu Lapcha pass.

Ama Lapcha is one of the challenging passes that is much less explored by people. Experience and mountaineering skills are a must for this trek. Therefore, It is recommended for experienced trekkers who are physically fit and well-prepared for the rigors of high-altitude trekking.
