Ljubljana for loved ones

I invite you to take a walk in the center of Ljubljana, where 2000 years ago there was a small but strategically important city of Emona for the Roman Empire. I will take you to the past, introduce you to the ancient man Emon, who will reveal secrets and tell you about everyday life, the people who lived here, about the clothes they wore, the houses they built, and, of course, the social life that they led. From early morning until noon, people led a very busy social life: business meetings, various holidays, sports competitions, theater performances and gladiatorial games. They enjoyed life.

Just imagine our Emon socializing in public baths and then enjoying a meal prepared at home with relatives, friends or distinguished acquaintances, with who he discusses the politics and events of the day over a glass of his favorite drink. Let's just imagine what they had on the table ... His diet included various types of cereals, cabbage, various types of bread with herbs and spices, and on holidays with ham, chicken or lamb, a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and nuts, as well as beef, pork, poultry, fish, our Emon, of course, was rich, remember his golden tunic)) I see him sitting at a table where dishes were served by slaves. There was always a vessel in front of him in which wine was mixed with water.

The tour takes place in a quiet green part of Ljubljana, just 2 minutes from the medieval city center, under the castle hill. You will discover traces left by the former Roman city of Emona in today's city, travel back 2000 years and learn about the life and customs of Emona.
