Description of the tour

Tour itinerary: Sofia → Belogradchik → Sofia

The Belogradchik Rocks are a natural phenomenon which was a candidate to be included between the New Seven Wonders of the World, as they are separated in different categories. These are amazing rock formations, taking a huge area in the North Western Bulgaria and present stunning views for those of us who can get there! We will have this opportunity when we arrive in the town of Belogradchik after a 3-hour drive starting from Sofia. There not only we will enjoy the wonderful sights but also we'll learn some interesting facts about Bulgarian history and some local legends about the ancient Roman fortress which walls incorporate the rocks themselves!

After we spend approximately 2 1/2 hours inclusive of a lunch break we will visit one of the most beautiful caves n Bulgaria - Venetsa cave. The cave is accessible for everyone who can do a little bit of easy climbing and this little efforts will reveal to you all the magnificent beauty of the stalactites and stalagmites that were created by the nature! The cave is also beautifully light-up and the 5 different landings built especially for the visitors give us the chance of taking some wonderful photos for our memories!
The tour takes in total about 11-12 hours and makes for a great excursion just within a day!

The tour is NOT suitable for children under the age of 8 years old! Please make sure that you have comfortable strong walking or climbing shoes! The tour is not suitable for people who have some disabilities due to some rock climbing on the rocks and in the cave! We provide for each of the travelers a bottle of mineral water. Meals and other drinks are not included.
